                                                        Tulsi (Basil) - Baug (Garden), its simply indicates that name is originated due to the presence of large quantity of Tulsi (Basil) plants in that area , at past.
Now, this place at center of Pune city is famous for , street sides small shops shopping. At this place now , you can gets variety of ornaments, clothes and other useful domestic utilities at very cheap rates, here you can test and show your skill of bargaining !
For routine and occasion shopping citizens of Pune city used to visit this place without fail, but if you are a visitor to Pune city then also you must have to visit this place to treat your eyes with variety of goods and you definitely cant control yourself from buying.



What to see - 

                       The main thing here is shopping , not to see but for taking actively participation.
                        Shop for sweets - Here you can see lots of sweets shop, as this place has very large back history, so the shops are. Some of the sweets shops here are from Pesva era and some also from before them.
Taking sweets from here ,you can say it is a traditional one , and among the old and main dishes of Pune city.

Temples - Here you can visit many old temples dedicated to , Lord Ram, Sita and Lakshmana.

In this Area there is a Famous Temple of , Ganapati of Tulsi Baug. The Lord Ganapati statue is covered with gold and diamonds, it is a must see place in that area.

Old Era buildings -
                                  Yes at this place many old era buildings manage to survive themselves, so you can take a look of them and become the witness of Pune historic era.

This area was developed during the period of 1763 to 1795, with the foundation and completion of Ram mandir.
