Bedse Caves or Bedsa Caves

                         This is a  part of ,trilogy of the Buddhist caves ,Bhaje-Karle-Bedse, in this region.
Comparatively, Bedse caves is small ,area wise and number of cave wise ,than two other caves in belt.
But still it maintains its uniqueness. It is really a calm place, from where you can enjoy greenery of surroundings , a amazing view from top. It is still apart from the reach of people as , many people dont know about it, so if you are searching for a place which is Historic, having religious touch and free from rush ,this place is best.
As a regular structural pattern of caves, Bedse caves consist on Chaitya gruha (prayer hall) and several Viharas (living rooms for monks).
Steps for going upward is easy and well maintained.You have to keep food and water with you ,as food shops are rare available their.
You can park your vehicles at bottom ,with having no risk. At caves their is security person cum guide ,who will brief you about the caves.
As this is a Hinyana sect (panth) caves ,their is no statue of Buddha in, Chaitya gruha( Prayer Hall) only symbolic Buddha in form of Stupas. On wall well sculptures are crafted, which will symbolize the living of peoples at that time. A water tank is built their, and also mentioned the donar name.
As this cave was on the trade route at that time ,so visited by well known personality from India and outside.

What To See -
                         This is cool and calm place where you can wonder through nearby farms and village.
If you visit in mansoon then you can enjoy small waterfalls near by, on the way.
At caves carved structures are really admirable , their are Stupas and Viharas .
You can rest on rocks for a moment with little effort for climbing on it, and can enjoy near by green nature.

History -
                 This cave was built in  1st century BC.As it is on ancient trade route, so it has historic importance.According to some historians ,for these caves King Ashoka was contributed.as a resting place of travellars and monks.
These caves was used by the Buddhist monks as a lving and mediating place specially in Mansoon season as a Varshavas.

How To Go -
                        This is on old Pune -Mumbai highway.
You have to take a left turn at Somatane phata, where a board name ,Bedse Village.
Going onto the road ,after a small ghat, there is Bedse village, you can also find boards on road at some places indicating the cave route. Or best way to ask villagers, any one can guide you.
Road is combination of good and bad.
